Lenten Slovak Hymn-Sing
Križová Cesta - Traditional Stations of the Cross

Our 12th Annual Križová Cesta was held on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Saint Andre Bessette Parish at St. Stanislaus worship site in Wilkes-Barre. The afternoon began with the hymn sing. Bernadette Yencha was leader of song and Helen Savinski Naylon was organist. There was great participation in the singing of our traditional Slovak Lenten Hymns which are no longer heard during Lent.
The Križová Cesta followed with Rev. John Albosta as presider. His willingness to serve each year is the reason we are able to continue this Lenten Service. Also participating were; Readers, Helen Savinski, Peter Kmeč, Ann Hendershot, Dr. Thomas Check, Philip Tuhy, Anthony Palischak, Magdalen Benish; Cross Bearer, Joseph Kowatch; Acolytes, Anna Hudock and Elaine Palischak.
Following the Stations, Magdalen Benish invited everyone to St. Matthew’s hall for a reception. Our thanks to Marcia Musial for donating all of the homemade Koleče.
Our thanks to Rev. Kenneth Seegar, Pastor of St. Andre Bessette, for offering his parish as host for these services.
We received many thanks from those in attendance that were so happy to be able once again to renew all their fond memories of years gone.
